Colour Schemes For The Bold – Purple and Orange

Asiatic Lily
Zinnia
Gladioli
Lobelia

Petunias

As autumn starts to make its presence felt here I’m already thinking about next summer…

I love the citrus zing of the delightful Zinnia – Orange King alongside the deep velvet purple of this beautiful Asiatic Lily – Dimension. Throw in the vibrant green foliage as the third colour and you have an eye popping combination! You could also throw in a very deep purple gladioli and have flowers to cut all summer long. Blue Lobelia and purple Petunias are favourites too for a bold garden and a spectacular in pots.

Things Organised Neatly

May I most humbly suggest that when the earth goes completely insane there is some small measure of comfort to be gained from Things Organized Neatly – go breathe in the nice, tidy goodness. My thanks to Alan Jacobs at Text Patterns for the heads up via Twitter. My own approach to an abiding love of things and collections can be somewhat more haphazard or perhaps I have a differing notion of what constitutes neatness – some photos in a future posts will attest to that.
