I’ve been having a lot of fun making fancy bits and pieces for my hair with some of the gorgeous loot I brought home from our recent trip to New York. These are very sweet, old fashioned velvet with a touch of sparkly goodness thrown in for good measure.

Dogs In Waiting – Shiver
My kids and I only know this sweet little guy as “Shiver” because as he waits at the school gate, a combination of excitement, nervousness and a sensitivity to Melbourne’s cool days has him shivering in a way that in makes us melt (could be the short legs and proximity to the ground!)

Learn To Concentrate
“The important thing is to learn to concentrate, to give all your attention to the thing at hand, and then be able to put it aside and go on to the next thing without confusion.”

Curious Swans
Out walking the other weekend when these beauties spotted me on the footbridge. I stopped to admire them and over they came, curious and probably looking a tidbit of food. When they discovered I had nothing on offer they calmly turned around and paddled away but not before the male fluffed up his wings and showed me his fancy white plumage as if to reinforce his stateliness and that he was well above begging for bread. Serene, regal and a little haughty I thought! They are truly beautiful creatures, I always feel very privileged to get anywhere near them.
